Connecting to SSMS

Step 2: Select the Server type as Database Engine — Select the server name and click on connect.

SQL Server Management Studio

Step 3: Click on New Query — Select the database — Write the query — Click on Execute(F5)

SQL Server Management Studio

My First Query:

-------------------------------------------------------------

USE AdventureWorks2008R2

GO

SELECT * FROM HumanResources.Employee

-------------------------------------------------------------

Please do not execute this query in your SQL Server. You will get the error if the AdventureWorks database is not in your server.

I have written this query just to show you the UI after executing a small query. For time being just see the data fetched by the query, time taken by it and number of rows fetched in the below screenshot.

Note:

Do not worry about AdventureWorks database. I am going to discuss about it in my next article 🙂
